Perhaps it would be interesting to program a virtual machine simulating
an ancient computer (such as the pdp-7). Then, it would be rather
interesting to code for it (porting gcc to it maybe?). I think it would
be fun to play with the long-forgotten art of coding in machine language.
And what about a fictional computer, such as one that works on an
entirely different way (such as a non-binary computer)?
It wouldn't be very useful, but...

I found and interesting article, "Experiences of Using PHP in Large
Websites" (http://www.ukuug.org/events/linux2002/papers/html/php/) ,
which lists some issues with scaling PHP for larger projects. Worth
a read although it appears to be three years old.
The major issue I have had with PHP is a conflict in class names for
modules created by two project teams. We resolved this by prefixing
all class names with a module ID, ex....

Guys,
I've seen this before and not understood why one worked and the other
didn't.
"SELECT * FROM HOURS LEFT JOIN HOURS_FACT ON HOURS.PROJECT
= HOURS_FACT.PROJECT AND HOURS.EMPLOYEE = HOURS_FACT.EMPLOYEE
AND HOURS.DATE_WORKED = HOURS_FACT.DATE_WORKED
WHERE HOURS_FACT.ROW_ID IS NULL"
This found the records in HOURS that were not in HOURS_FACT if I ran it in a
saved query but returned no rows if I ran it in VBA using ADODB. I wanted

In the process of learning VS2005/C# (having a background in Borland Delphi
2 through 2005) I came across an interesting feature of Visual Studio's file
management. At first, it appeared there wasn't a way for me to 'share'
common business objects (ex. \Projects\Objects\Customer\CustomerObject.cs)
across multiple solutions.
When I select Add -> Existing Item, navigate to the directory, and select
