Enterprise Instrumentation and Windows Trace Session Manager

I have installed the Microsoft Enterprise Instrumentation
framework and have installed the samples. I have events
successfully being logged to the Application Event Log
using the Simple Instrumentation Sample Application.

I cannot however get the TraceEventSink to log them, even
though the Windows Trace Session Manager service is
running. Nothing shows up in the Trace Log.

My environment is as follows:
Windows XP Professional, SP1
Visual Studio .NET 2003

I have read the readme and see no documented issues that
would cause an issue.

Thanks!

Hi there,

A better newsgroup to post this question on is
microsoft.publi c.vsnet.enterpr ise.tools

The problem is probably in the configuration.
Did you enable the trace log session in the TraceSessions.c onfig file?
If you cant get this to work - check the Windows Event Log (Application
log) for errors.

If it still doesnt work, reply with the EnterpriseInstr umentation.conf ig
and TraceSessions.c onfig files that you are using and I'll try and figure
it out for you.

Cheers

Mike

Hello all, I will like to make use of the "Enterprise Instrumentation Framework" (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=17072) however I do not have Windows 2003 server nor Visual Studio 2003. I do have, however, Windows XP Professional and dotnet framework 1.1 SDK. 1. Will I be able to use the Enterprise Instrumentation Framework on my environment? 2. Where can I download the framework from?

I have Enterprise Manager on my local machine. For the last twelve months it has been connecting without problem to my online SQL Server database provided by my ISP. Three weeks ago the ISP applied some sort of extra security arrangements to their SQL Server to allow access only through port 1433. they have told me to configure an alias using Network Client and to register this alias in the usual way using my Enterprise Manager. My...

There are a number of things that I really like about pgAdmin, but there are a few things that SQL Server Enterprise manager can...

Hi, I have started using MS Enterprise Library for the data access layer and found it great. I have changed to coding on another machine though and didn't think it necessary to a full install of the Enterprise Library. This caused a problem that the following article solves: http://scottonwriting.net/sowblog/posts/3406.aspx Does this however mean I am going to run into all sorts of problems

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
