VS.Net Shortcut buttons

Hi,

I am taking a VB.Net programming class. I installed the
VS.Net that came with my textbook. For some reason the
keyboard shortcut to use the debug menu tool "step into"
is f8 instead of f11. My book and the help documentation
for the program say the shortcut for that command is f11.
I seem to have alot of little problems like this with my
VS.Net, that my friends do not. Any advice? Thanks

On the Start Page of Visual Studio go to My Profile. Try
setting yourself to a VB developer. That may fix your
problems.

Hi,
It also seems coincidental that the VB6 and earlier were
using the F8 shortcut key for stepping into and now VS.Net
uses F11. Carol

C# Component Shortcut Key Event Focus We have created our own checkbox component. By capturing the KeyDown and KeyUp events the checkbox steps through a string containing a list of the valid checkbox values, for instance: ABC etc. Also a blank space can be a valid value. Problem: If there is a button on the form with the same shortcut key ('X') as one of the valid values in our checkbox, the buttons OnClick event is captured

this is a strange behavior of buttons with shortcut keys, when You have a datagrid on a form and some buttons with shortcut keys. When You click on the datagrid (anywhere but the cells, free space, header or something) and press the shortcut key (without the ALT key pressed) button's action is called. You can easyli recreate this by creating a simple project with datagrid and a button with shortcut key (&Delete in the Text property for...

I have created an Outlook style bar in my C# application and have associated accelerator keys to my group/icon buttons by using the & key and setting UseMnemonic as appropriate. The problem is that the buttons are being selected even when I do not press the Alt key. Simply pressing the shortcut key alone without Alt selects the button. This is not the desired effect - I wish to make it so that the user must press the Alt in association...

I have an issue with a multi-form app - not MDI. My issue is that I need to create shortcut keystrokes for all of the buttons on each form. I would love to use the typical method of adding an ampersand(&) before the hotkey character and have .net do the magic for me. What I am finding is that it works great on the main form, but on any child forms i show (using ShowDialog() ) it seems that the keystroke is getting processed by the main...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
