Attach w3wp for debugging

Hi,

I'm running on Windows 2003 Server with Framework 1.0, on a CPU on P4
2.4GHz, 256Mb Ram

When I attach other processes (one winservice, and also the asp.net
w3wp.exe) for debugging, my visual studio loads the assembly of these
processes, but it always take a unacceptable time (more than 1 minute). In
the output window, the assemblies are shown loaded one by one slowly, My
winservice is not that large and any one knows if such a time is normal or
not? Is there any settings?

Thanks!

Regards,
George

Hi I have a windows 2003 test server. I installed a web application on it, including the debug symbol files. I also installed the remote debugger from the Visual Studio 2003 DVD. My client is a windows xp. Neither the client nor the server is on a domain. Thus I replicated my local XP user account on the server. Then I fired up the...

Friends, We are preparing for Beta release of a new ASP.NET project, but our initial in-house tests are not going well. We have had W3WP.exe (and aspnet_wp.exe) die, and we feel we can monitor it's death and sometimes get useful information out of the DMP file. But lately, W3WP.exe lives, but appears hung. New request to the...

Hi all, In VS 2003, when I attach to a remote process for debugging, I can see the list of modules loaded by the process before attaching to it. This list is not there anymore in VS 2005. Instead, I just have a warning for security reasons and 2 buttons (Attach | Don't attach). Let me explain a bit... I have several web applications...

Last night I noticed a bunch of our web apps were getting out of memory exceptions. I checked task manager on the server and the w3wp.exe process had eaten up about 780 megs of memory. I did an IIS reset and it has solved (temporarily probably) the issue. Memory usage dropped to about 50 megs or so. This morning its up to 180megs. Can I...

I see some references on debugging by attaching to a process. There are MSDN articles that show how to attach to a process for debugging. However, I can find no info on how exactly to get the debugging to work. I have a wizard page in the anonymous section of my website. If I run it as the startup page in VS it runs fine. But if I link...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
