need mysql.sock

1 New Member
Hi *all
i install Zendcore PHP on Monday, include MySql on an iSeries with V5R4.
Start & Stop the Zendcore SBS works fine,
Start,stop &restart Apache works fine,
Start stop mysql SBS work fine but
start Mysql daemon fail.

In the Joblog i found out that i need a /tmp/mysql.sock'
Google told me, that i had to create a symbol link to this file.
But... i dont have this file in the hole file system!
Because i do not know what to do, i create a file with this name.

Now i get the answer, that the server is startet.
I dont believe that. there is no job running.

mysqladmin status say:
mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (57)'
Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/tmp/mysql.sock' exists!

So, i think i need a good mysql.sock, not an emty one
Who can tell me, how to get one (or some other infos)
thank's

When you google for mysql sock you will find a lot of articles (> 4.000.000) regarding your problem.

At bugs.php.net I found mysql.sock error and at bugs.mysql.com mysqld will not start-problem with /tmp/mysql.sock

Sorry I cannot be of better help, but I have no idea what can cause it.
