What is the fastest way to restore a mysqldumped table?

I have a backed up table and need to restore it. It is quite large (120
Million Rows) and I am using a file created by mysqldump to restore it (and
it is taking forever). I am checking out the various tips on the mysql site
about optimizing performance, but am only getting about 1k inserts per
second which is way to slow.

I am hoping I am missing something really simple that would speed things up,
any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks,
Scott

Well I will add my own 2 cents worth.

Our table has a very large and complex key associated with it.

So I dropped that index and then ran the restore... got 12k records per
second, quite an improvement. Took about 4 hours to do 120 million records.
I am reindexing now and am guessing I'll be days ahead as long as the new
index takes less than 12 hours.

Just goes to show ya ... it's always somethin' :-)
