MySQL

Ken
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in
C:\Apache2\Webp age\test_mysql. php on line 44

I receive the above error when trying to insert data into a database. The
statement used for insertion is:

LINE 44: INSERT INTO ad_data ('website') Values('w');

The database and table is working..

I can connect to the database and the table.
Table name is ad_data.
Column1 name is id which is the primary key, integer, and auto incrementing
Column2 name is website. Data in the website column is 'hhhh'

All columns are NULL except for id.

I can fetch data from the table. See below:

$db_query = mysql_query("SE LECT website FROM ad_data") or die("Select
Failed!");
$db_results = mysql_fetch_arr ay($db_query);
echo "Table data = ".$db_resul ts[0]."<br><br>";

I have manually inserted data in the table.

Everything seems to be working.

Any suggestions for correcting the error in line 44?

Thanks for the help.

Is this supposed to be php or sql?

If sql, then:
INSERT INTO ad_data (website) Values('w');

Do I need to add any leading script if it is sql inside of php?

I am not the best person to answer php questions and this is not a group
for php, but personally when I used php, I used database like this:

<?php
$link = mysql_connect(" localhost", "username", "password")
or die("Could not connect");
mysql_select_db ("databasename" )
or die("Could not select database");

$query = "SELECT * from tablename";
$result = mysql_query($qu ery)
or die("Query failed");
?>

I installed mySQL and have it running.... but I think I made a mistake somewhere along the line...... I believe I did follow the instructions that were provided with the distribution at: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/ The database is up. It seems that a test database instance has been created (named "test"). I can see it. However, the other database instance that should have been created, named "mysql" doesn't show up when I do "show...

Hi, I"m new to this forum, but I have been trying all day to install DBD::mysql onto my Intel MacBook. I've read lots of forums pages and none have gotten me to a successful 'make test' or a successful 'sudo make install.' Before every attempt I even do a sudo make distclean to make sure I haven't gotten things mucked up from a prior attempt. OS: Mac OS X 10.4.10 MySQL: v5.0.41 for Mac OSX-i686 DBI: v1.58 (installed fine using CPAN)...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
