SQLColumns function and MySQL ODBC driver

Hi,

The MySQL ODBC driver returns an error when calling SQLColumns function with an empty Table parameter:
[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver][mysqld-4.0.18-nt]Can't use wildcards in table name

Is there a newer version which supports wildcards in table name?
Actually I don't really need wildcards, but I need to get the list of all columns in all tables.

Thanks.

get this sort of information. The re is a pseudo-SQL command in MySQL
called "SHOW" that you can use to Not exactly standard SQL, but the
ODBC driver should permit it (I'm assuming; I have not tried this myself
through the ODBC driver).

See:
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/SHOW_TABLES.html
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/SHOW_COLUMNS.html

Bill K.

Yeah, and not ODBC standard either.
I'm working on a C module to inteface ANY datasource through ODBC, si I have to stick as close as possible to the ODBC API.

Thanks.

I finally solved the problem by catching the error and program my algorithm differently by calling SQLTables for every table in a loop. This way I get all columns in all tables.

My client has an MS Access database application on her local machine. I have full access to that in terms of changing the design. I've got a simple PHP/MySql application on shared hosting, so no direct access to the db server. I'd like to give her the facility to export the information in her local Access application to the shared PHP/MySql site. From one command button (or similar) in the Access application.

Hi, I am trying to connect to a MySQL database, using the .Net framework. I installed the newest MyODCB (3.51) and the .Net ODBC drivers from Microsoft. I made a System DSN using the driver, and i get it to connect - so far so good.

I am using the MySQL ODBC 3.51 driver to link three relatively small MySQL tables to a Microsoft Access 2003 database. I am finding that the data from the MySQL tables takes a hell of a long time to load making any kind linkage with my Access data virtually useless. I have the MySQL driver setup in as a USER DSN. The MySQL data is sitting out on a server and the Access database is running locally. The network connection is very...

I am looking at using MySQL in my application (currently works with Access and SQL Server 2000). Is it possible to access MySQL database using ADO? What is the connection string for this? Also, it is possible to change/modify the table structure/create new tables/indexes via Visual basic codes?

I am using VB.NET 1.1 and cannot connect to a MySQL (v5) database. Hi there I am an Access developer, and I have written applications for a 30 telephone call center, using the standard multiuser jet engine, it all works fine, but I want to move our systems onto MySQL, as we get the odd #DELETED# (that old chestnut) so that it is more stable, I have installed mysql and myodbc and configured it in data sources (ODBC) and it works fine (done the TEST). But when I try to export a table from the mdb

I need to Connect to an online mySQL database from Access using JET ODBC with no saved DSN. Anyone out there who as made this work and can give example of how it's done? I've seen lots of posts saying it's possible, but no code. This has to be Jet ODBC, because the users are technophobes and I wouldnt expect them to download and install a myODBC driver - or create a working DSN for that matter. My visiting the sites and configuring...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
