I seem to have replication set up correctly to only replicate one
database named vmail.*
Except when I try to update a table in vmail.* the changes do not
replicate to the slave. Authentication works fine. Binary logging
(log-bin) is enabled on both.
I have a feeling about one thing that might be wrong - "Binlog_do_db"
on the master server is empty when it should be "vmail".

Hello!
I'm trying to set up replication between two servers and even though I
did everything according to the documentation, the slave keeps failing
to connect to the master like this:
| 050119 0:23:43 Slave SQL thread initialized, starting replication in
| log 'zwart-bin.001' at position 79, relay log './blauw-relay-bin.001'
| position: 4
| 050119 0:23:43 Slave I/O thread: error connecting to master

I have a master slave configuration on linux machines running MySQL 4.0.21.
Once every hour, a process deletes about 9000 rows and re-inserts fresh data
on the master. The master process completes processing under a minute. The
updates arrive on the slave within seconds. However, the slave takes about
15-20 minutes to post the same updates. Both master and slave have InnoDB
tables. The master and the slave are almost identical in capacity...

Hello,
We are using mysql v4.0.24 on Linux machines.
I'm trying to set up replication with a master and only one slave
database.
The syncronization seems to work well, the relay file on slave is wrote
correctly (Read_Master_Log_Pos and Relay_Log_Pos are updated) but the
information on slave database is not updated.
Master and slave are sincronyzed as shown below but for some reason I
don't understand.

Dear group:
I have removed my hard drive from my laptop (which is now toast) and
have managed to recover nearly all the data from it by installing the
drive into my desktop. I was hoping to reboot the dektop to see if I
could load the operating system on the laptop's hard drive so I could
do a manual backup of the SQL database on it. This does not work.
Does anyone know of a way to recover my SQL database and all its tables
given...

We regularly make drive images of our entire server and store it at a
backup site. To be honest I have never fully understood how the imaging
programs deal with open files. My question is will the drive image make
a good copy of MySQL DB or should I be running a mysqldump before doing
the drive image?

We have a 4 year old Dell desktop that functions as the file server in our very simple (2 other pc's plus the "server") XP network. On the Dell we have our Quickbooks company file in a shared folder so that both of us can access it simultaneously (it is multi-user version of QB). Yesterday, the desktop housing that file failed to boot up. We got a message indicating that there is a problem with the drive (said: primary drive 0 operating outside...

Hello,
I am trying to create a code repository for myself and am having
trouble linking to files. Basically, the web server computer has
drives from several other computers nfs mounted to it -- and I want to
link to a file (just a .C file) on one of the nfs mounted drives. I'm
an html novice and have tried:

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
