Hi All, I'm looking at using PHP and MySQL for a particular website application. However, I was a bit concerned that if a PHP script went wrong then it would be possible to accidentally delete or overwrite large chunks of the data in the database which presumably would then be lost. What is the usual procedure for these situations?. Is it possible to back up a database somehow so that data from a previous time can be retrieved?. Ta,...

I'm trying to set up an off the shelf script and keep getting an error. My host set up the mysql on my site and I changed the variables I had to in the settings.php file but I keep getting the following errors Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Access denied for user: 'ODBC@localhost' (Using password: NO) in f:\wwwroot\professionalchef\Back\JobsOnline\mysql.php on line 121 Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Access denied for user: 'ODBC@localhost'...

Hi, Has anyone had this problem ? I am using MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver, with MS Access 2003 and MySQL 4.1.11 standard log. I created my tables in MS Access, then exported them via ODBC to an externally hosted MySQL database (fasthosts) . I then import-linked

Hi there, I'm building a music site with a mysql backend. It has a many to many relational database. I use this to match music genres with certain artists, to maintain the possibility to add multiple genres to a singe artist. Now i've searched google, but can't find a solution on how to update rows with checkboxes. If an artist gets his genre updated as follows:

My MySQL table has a field that is set as type "date." I need to get today's date, and insert it into that field. The default for that MySQL field is 2006-00-00. I know about the date() function. I have tried date("Y-m-d") and date("U"), neither worked. The date field was just filed with all zeros. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Hi, is it possible that due to OS crash or mysql itself crash or some e.g. SCSI failure to lose all the data stored in the table (let's say million of 1KB rows). In other words what is the worst case scenario for MyISAM backend? Also is it possible to not to lose data but get them corrupted?

Hello, I'm a php/mysql beginner... Is there any way of making the mysql command line client full-screen? Sometimes it's easier to use the client than go thru php, but since it's only about 80 characters wide that limits its usefulness. Thanks, Gerard http://homepage.eircom.net/~gerfmcc]

You may be wondering why you would want to put your files “into” the database, rather than just onto the file-system. Well, most of the time, you wouldn’t. In situations where your PHP application needs to store entire files, the preferred method is to save the file onto the server’s file-system, and store the physical location of the file in your database. This is generally considered to be the easiest and fastest way to store files. ...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
