Windoz service problem

Hello.

Apologies if this is the wrong forum but I have a problem with a new
installation of mysql on Windows XP professional. Having installed via the
instructions when I try to start the mysql service it just stops again with
the following in the .err file :-

InnoDB: No valid checkpoint found.
InnoDB: If this error appears when you are creating an InnoDB database,
InnoDB: the problem may be that during an earlier attempt you managed
InnoDB: to create the InnoDB data files, but log file creation failed.
InnoDB: If that is the case, please refer to section 3.1 of
InnoDB: http://www.innodb.com/ibman.html

Hi We are trying to debug a problem with services created using py2exe. It seems that these problems have arisen after services were installed and removed a few times. OK, first the actual problem we're seeing. After compiling a service with py2exe, running "service -install" and attempting to start it from the Services dialog, it pops up the message "Windows could not start the Service on Local Computer. For more information,...

hi i just tried the sqlite database on my windoz machine with the odbc driver and it seems fast. i was reading about size limitations for sqlite databases and it seems it would run good on databases of a couple hundred megs. Can anyone compare the performace for a few concurrent users (20), and the ability to recover database problems such as corruption of data in the windoz version of mysql and sqlite ?

Hello, I'm experiencing a problem that I'm hoping someone might be able to shed some light on. I have an ASP.NET page on a Windows 2000 machine that makes web service calls to a .NET web service. Once in a while the ASP.NET process gets to a state where the web service call to the web service hangs and then does a timeout. While the ASP.NET process is in this state, looking at the TCP connections, the TCP connection never shows up for...

We are attempting to make a request to a web service (we will refer to it as XXXServices) hosted on a Web Logic server from a C# SOAP client. The server responds with a 401 Unauthorized error (that appears in plain text), and causes the client to crash. This C# code has been deployed both as an ASP.NET application and a WinForms app, each of which produced the same result. Further, moving the clients from a Windows XP machine to Windows...

I have create a Windows service that uses a timer to access a Web Service. The service is set to start Automatically and its using the local system account. The service also logs events to the event viewer and the Event viewer is set to overwrite events as needed. The problem is that when I boot the PC the service does not start and I got two error messages in the System log: (Event 7000. The <MyService> service failed to start due to the...

What would be a good way to check programmatically whether a service was running? We have a service that dies periodically and I need to check to see if this service is running. I know how to check to see if the status is in stopped or running mode. But that doesn't tell me if it is actually running. I need to know this so that if it happens I can programmatically start the same service on another machine.

I'm in the process of building a number of (Web) Services using .NET 3.0 and WCF. These services are intended to be deployed within the Intranet of a very, very large orginization. I need to have a discovery process by which applications can discover these services. What I really would like to avoid is static URL's scattered throughout configuration files, and I'm willing to write a fair bit of code to achieve this goal. I had...

The web service is called by a program running on pocket pc. When to call the web service, the first call is still ok, but for the second or later calls, it will throw "403 Forbidden" WebException. When to test it using the web interface on pocket IE, everything is fine. Before there was no such problem, it only happened within a week or so. I suspect it's caused by the server's firewall settings, but how come the first call is ok? This...

I am self hosting a Web Service in a Windows service. I am trying to start the service using the NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService account. I get a NullReferenceException on ServiceHost.Open() in the ServiceBase.OnStart() method. SCM throws a 1067 error as well. I get the same problem with NT AUTHORITY\LocalService. When I use the LocalSystem account, my domain account, or another regular user account, the windows service starts just fine.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
