similar but not identical input produces warning

-
does anybody know why inserting

("XX", "test") and then ("XX", "test one") produce a warning?

CREATE TABLE state
(
country_code CHAR(2) NOT NULL,
name VARCHAR(10) NULL,

PRIMARY KEY(country_cod e, name),

FOREIGN KEY(country_cod e)
REFERENCES country(code)
ON DELETE CASCADE
ON UPDATE CASCADE
)

nmind.. the length of the VARCHAR was the cause of the warnings as some
string are longer than that.

Consider these two classes. Class Accepter in placement_classes.inc.php works as a form validation object, and it works like a charm: PHP: // placement_classes.inc.php - THIS ONE WORKS! class Accepter { function Accepter() {

I need to automatically search and replace all fixed size buffer strcpy's with strncpy's (or better yet, strlcpy's) as a security and stability audit. The code base is large and it is not feasable to manually perform these changes. I would like perhaps a C++ parser that can automatically detect use of a strcpy to a buffer of fixed size. For instance, struct x { char member;

I am a very amatuer c++ programmer and a somewhat accomplished composer. I am trying to write some code that creates 'self similar' melodies from a base melody the user inputs. This musical idea was created by Tom Johnson. Apologies to those who are not musically literate, but as this is basically a mathmatical problem I think most here can follow the logic. Lets keep eveything in C Major, that's all the white keys on the piano....

Hi everybody- I'm helping a friend with a music database. She has an old one and is creating a new one. She wants to compare records and fields in the old database with records and fields in the new database. For instance, her old database has a table with Band Info in it. Her new database also has a table with Band Info in it but slightly different. I was wondering if there was an easy way to compare the fields from similar tables in...

I am having conflicting results with two pieces of identical code. One is an insert, the other is an update to a db. The first code, which works, is this: Sub Add3_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Dim imgStream as Stream = Add3Image.PostedFile.InputStream Dim imgLen as Integer = Add3Image.PostedFile.ContentLength Dim imgType as String = Add3Image.PostedFile.ContentType If Not imgStream Is Nothing And imgLen > 0 And (imgType =

Hi I have a report which splits invoice costs to various departments and shows a summary. The various divisors and multipliers used in deriving the values for each department, are such that the final figures will not be to 2 decimal places. I decided to use the Round() function so that the calculated figure would equal the formatted figure. I then Summed the rounded figures to reach a total. Occasionally the sum will not equal the actual...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
