date extraction issue from datetime column

Great that worked!

I would also like to only provide a date in the where clause and not a
timestamp (the field is of type datetime). I have tried using the
date function but it does not appear to work. I tested the date
function as per mysql
manual(http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/da...functions.html)
but I get the following error:

SQL-query:

SELECT DATE( '2003-12-31 01:02:03' )
MySQL said:

#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax.
Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the
right syntax to use near '('2003-12-31 01:02:03')' at line 1

Any ideas?

I'm having a fit with a query for a range of dates. The dates are being returned from a view. The table/field that they are being selected from stores them as varchar and that same field also stores other fields from our dynamic forms. The field is called 'FormItemAnswer' and stores text, integer, date, float, etc. Anything the user can type into one of our web forms. The query looks like, select distinct from...

I have two columns in a table: StartDate DateTime and StartTime DateTime. The StartDate column holds a value such as 07/16/2004 The StartTime column holds a value such as 3:00:00 PM I want to be able to add them in a stored procedure. When I use StartDate + StartTime I get a date two days earlier than expected. For example, instead of 7/16/2004 3:00:00 PM StartDate + StartTime returns 7/14/2004 3:00:00 PM.

I have a datetime variable coming from my ASP.NET application that has a time portion. I give my users the option to perform an equals, greater than, less than, or between comparison. The trouble comes in the way the application builds the criteria string. The WHERE clause passed in is in the format, "(start_dt = '2005/05/16 07:00:00.000')". What I want to do is only compare the date portion of start_dt to the date portion of the passed...

I'm storing a date/time into a SQL table of type datetime. I need it to be precise so the value is stored to the 1000th of a second. ie "insert into myTable mydate values ('08/05/2005 2:56:11.987'). This works fine...if you check the value in the table with query analyzer, it shows in there properly. Now, in my app, I'm executing the same query (that I used in QA) and storing tha in a dataview. If I break and watch the program, the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
