Mobile App Development & Tool

1 New Member
Hello,

This is my first post.

I'm a developer working on PhP and Java for 5+ years, with growing number of mobile apps and tools, I'm very curious to learn the technology and start building the apps.

Need your help to understand where should I start learning & building up the skills? I heard that Adobe Flex SDK allows us to build apps for all platforms (BB, Android etc)? How easy or complex is it?

Hello MSVR,

I have just created my first app with Flex 4.6 (ie: Flash Builder). I have no knowledge of PHP and very very little knowledge of JAVA. I started out with no knowledge of Actionscript.

Online documentation appears to be written by programmers and is therefore very technical as opposed to easy to understand (if that makes sense). I found it difficult to understand at times. The new Flex 4.6 documentation is less technical and has more examples to get the understanding. There are also a lot of sample code online from other developers.

If you use just the Flex SDK and not any specific platform SDK then you write once and deploy on BB Playbook, Android, and Apple. Soon you will be also able to deploy on BB phones when they update the new OS.

All in all I am happy with Flex and each day I learn a little more of it.

cheers,

I posted this to the aspnet.mobile group, however there appears to be little activity there. So I am trying here for I am really stuck. I am really confused as I browse Microsoft’s MSDN in regard to mobile development and VS2005. I go to the mobile asp net page: http://www.asp.net/default.aspx?tabindex=4&tabid=44 The things I read in here seem to refer to VS2003 or are just plain old. I go to device update and the latest update is...

Hi - I am an intermediate level web and flash developer coming from a design orientation (as opposed to computer science background) and have been developing sites and flash interactives since such things existed, but I am a total newbie as far as mobile devices are concerned. I have been getting requests to make web projects acessible by mobile devices. I need to start learning the basics on this. I just looked at the "Intro to WML - WAP...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
