VB. Net + Win Mobile 5.0 - Loading a child form within parent form

1 New Member
Hey guys,

I am developing a SMS application using VB.net recently.

I have a question here.

When I click one of the buttons in my parent form, I want its child form(named as PhoneBook) to be loaded.

Is my coding below correct?

Private Sub btnEdit_Click(B yVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArg s) Handles btnEdit.Click

PhoneBook.Show( )

End Sub

Kindly reply me thx!

Is there a vb command that can tell me if I have focus in the child or parent form? Basicly I have a search macro that needs me to have focus to any field in the parent form. If my focus is set on any field in the parent form it will search that field. However if I have focus set to a field in the child form it fails. What I want to do is set focus to field1 of the parent table but ONLY if focus is on a field in the child form. Is...

For some reason, when I click the X to close my MDI parent form, the action appears to be re-directed to one of the MDI child forms, and the parent remains open. I am then unable to close the application. What should happen, is that the main MDI form should close, taking the child forms with it. There is code to loop through the child forms, remove the controls on each of them, and then close the form, but this code should execute only...

I'm having a problem when opening an MDI Child form. I'm declaring the child form then setting the dock property to fill so that it takes up the entire space of the MDI Parent window without being maximized (user request). The problem is that when the child form is being displayed it is briefly shown in it's default size before being resized to fill the available area on the MDI Parent form. How can I stop the MDI Parent from displaying...

Help! Another newbie question I'm afraid. I have a toolbar on an MDI form, which I can control OK to produce a child form. When the child form is active, the appropriate MDI parent form toolbar button properties are set as follows: .pushed=true and .enabled=false. My problem is how do I set the reverse conditions when I close this child form? I have tried putting (in the Exit button click event) Toolbar1.Buttons(6).Pushed=False...

I have an MDI parent form that creates mdi child forms each of which are represented by a tab item. I use a third party control to generate the tabbed MDI child forms. Each tab or MDI child form displays information regarding a specific asset that is determined by an asset number. The asset numbers are entered through a global tool bar. I can enter an asset number and then display several MDI child forms. For example: I can display...

I have a question concerning the need to trigger events within a "child" subform which is itself enbedded within a master "parent" form and which is accessible via a tab in the parent form. Becuase this is all very difficult to explain in words, please bear with me as I endevour to explain what it is I am trying to do. It would be helpful if I could attach a graphics file to this posting that would help explain what it is I'm trying to achieve...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
