Is it possible to have an auto complete ComboBox in ASP.NET? I would
like to create a ComboBox that functions similarly to the way that IE
will try to autocomplete a URL as you type it in.
Thanks,

Everyone misses the point on this - what we need is a combobox autocomplete
that is a dropdownlist only. When in dropdown mode, you can enter text -
making that autocomplete is trivial. But when you look at combobox controls
from years ago, they would autocomplete in dropdownlist mode. And if you
look at intellisense, this is exactly what happens, so obviously the .net
framework can do it.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm working with C# in Visual Studio 2005. I have a combobox with
AutoCompleteSource = ListItems and DropDownStyle = DropDown. I want users to
be able to type in the combobox and the control to autocomplete (Append
AutoCompleteMode), but have their options limited to the control's ListItems.
Right now the autocomplete works fine, but they can type anything that isn't
in the list. Is there an easy way to set the control to do this or am I...

Once you’ve populated a ComboBox with items and your AutoComplete –
SuggestAppend properties are enabled the following is a problem. When you
select an item where a duplicate item exists and you move the focus away from
the control the first of the two items are automatically selected.
I.e. If I have a ComboBox with the items “John”, “James”, “James”, “Peter”
and I select the second “James” and I move the focus...

I'm creating a database Winforms application using VCS Express 2005
I have some large lookup tables (may be up to 500000 records) which
contains name and id and are stored in sql server.
I need to create single line combobox style control which:
1. Allows to type first characters in name
2. Auto-completes entered data by using first match
3. Allows to open picklist based by entered data and select name

I have a series of ComboBox's Bound to a DataGridView and I turned the
AutoComplete on for them so they list all the items in a certain
collumn of the DataGridView.
The problem is that when you use the Tab key to finish the
Autocomplete it both selects that item and moves to the next Control
in the Tab Order.
I personally prefer to use the Enter key (to select autocomplete
items) but many users are used to the Tab key.

Hi - I've been searching around for a fix but can't find one...
There is a bug with combobox autocomplete suggestappend. When text has a
slash, "ab/cd" for example, the autocomplete feature cuts off all text after
the slash, "ab".
Also, the autocomplete feature doesn't work correctly. It will not
suggestappend when typing letters up to a slash or just move the cursor to
the last character.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
