Is this the right tool for the job?

3 New Member
I'm new at networking and I want to start making my own network wires/cables for my office. I ordered this crimping tool from [edited to remove url (crimper should be here in a few days) and I wanted to learn if there are any other kinds of network cat5 wire crimping tools out there that would work better?

[Edited to remove url] is the location for the crimp plires on thier website, those are the ones that I bought. Funny that it says Germany on the handle of the plires but I would gues they are made in China since the company I bought them from is in China. If you know of a name of a certin cat 5 wire crimper that would be better for me to use then please post it here. Thank you :)

Please don't double post - the other thread being here. The networking Forum seems to be the better place for this question.

I need a tool to browse text files with a size of 10-20 Mb. These files have a fixed record length of 800 bytes (CR/LF), and containt records used to create printed pages by an external company. Each line (record) contains an 2-character identifier, like 'A0' or 'C1'. The identifier identifies the record format for the line, thereby...

Hi Group, I am not an experienced programmer at all. I've learned html and css well enough to hand-write simple websites. I'm now looking to move to the next step. Initially, I'd like to do 3 things: 1) Generate web pages This one's fairly obvious maybe. 2) Create a simplified translation package specific to my line of work:

I have an application I have written in MS Access 2002. It is a very basic inventory system for keeping track of information about our Unix(solaris to be specific) servers. Other admins may want to use it shortly and running MS Access over the WAN is no picnic. It was suggested that I port to php and MySql. Having no experience with...

I need to build a small application, 1 exe, 4-5 forms, about 5 imbedded Crystal Reports, about 5 classes, one locally installed access database, etc. I will be the only coder. I don't want to start another application where I just code right away because I can see that I waste time because I didn't think of things before I coded it. What I...

Hi everyone. I'm looking for the right tool for a job. Hope someone can help. The deal is this: We have a large amount of data which is maintained by non-programmers. This is validated and exported to a series of text files. These text files are parsed into memory. Third parties are also able to modify these text files.

I'm new obviously to html and I'm looking for a way put an image on the right side of the page opposite text on the left. How does one do this? I've heard of text wrapping of an image but not sure if this is what I really want, and further don't know how to do that either. Appreciate any info.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
