Im trying to build a system for a games department that can register items that have been bought and also enable people to sign out items from the current stock. The problem comes about when someone has already reserved equipment how do you enable it to be inaccessible to all the other users.Cheers

Which language/technologies are you using? You should post this in the relevant technical forum.

You can put a flag after reservation..............which will change the value of the flag. And when a new customer is accessing the reservable list, check their flag value before they make a move. You can use a "INSTEAD OF" TRIGGER when the users tries to insert data in the view level. As I can guess is what you'll do.

As you didn't mention about what are you using to develop your software,so I gave a general idea.............actually.
