How to setup Gmail Notifications for specific Labels on Mac OS X

Gmail is a great tool and for Mac there is a notification tool that makes it easy to be notified for any incoming email.

http://toolbar.google.com/gmail-help...ifier_mac.html

While this is a great tool, if you have a busy inbox you will get bombarded with notifcations that might not be useful to you.

To solve this you can use Gmail's notifier app to only notify you of specific labels.

Here are the steps to set up a label only notifier.

1) Create a gmail label

2) Create a filter that labels your important email to your new label(click on blue filter link)

3) Install the notifier app
download from
http://toolbar.google.com/gmail-help...ifier_mac.html

4) Open terminal app

5) Use the following commands in terminal to setup your label notifier

defaults write com.google.Gmai lNotifier Label -string "importantemail "

to remove/reset the label notifier just run the following command
defaults delete com.google.Gmai lNotifier Label

I've got a small little problem with my 'website-in-progress': http://www.captainsoftheworld.com/modernrepublic/strict/index.php http://www.captainsoftheworld.com/modernrepublic/strict/ModernRepublic.css Is it possible, without messing around with per-pixel positioning or sizing, to make the labels ("Name" & "E-mail") in the Mailing List form line up with their associated text-input areas? In my system's setup (using IE6) the labels...

Hi, Our Health Center ("DB2 v8.1.0.64", "s040812", "MI00086", and FixPak "7") hasn't been sending out email notifications for a bit now, but we aren't sure why, since no configurations have changed (except the server has been restarted, so perhaps something is 'off'). We just have one email alias setup in the Health Center for our single, small db. I've tested the alias manually and it still works. What mechanism does it use to send...

I print mailing labels out of Access 2000 databases about 3 to 4 times a week. I have been having problems with one thing since I have been printing mailing labels. I print mailing labels by using a report I created and then printing them on a continuous-feed dot matrix printer. I used the Label Wizard, chose the query I created, picked the 'Avery USA 4146' (1 7/16" x 4") - 3 across, paper size: 'Fanfold 358mm x 12 in', and Printer:...

I created a report to print labels, and it created a custom page size for the report. When I opened the properties of the printer driver I could see it listed - as Custom. Then I had to change printer drivers. (Long story, rather OT.) When I displayed the report, it was formatted for a full page - not real useful for mailing labels. The list of available page sizes did not include Custom.

Hi: I have a user who has labels that are set up 3 across and 11 vertical (which is unusual at best), and he wants me to print names and addresses on them. I have already set up for labels 10 vertical and 3 across (Avery 5160)which are another standard the user has, but can't find any in the setup for labels that show 11 vertical. I am therefore using the Avery 5160 as a start, and modifying the top and bottom margins (the margins on the...

I created a header that adjusts with the size of the browser windows. How do I place labels in the header section so they also maintain their position when the window is resized? One of the labels is constant but the rest will be entered programmatically, for example, the users name, their company, city, state and zip. My example code: <body> <form id="form1" runat="server">

I'm trying to get a list of messages from GMAIL using it's new IMAP access. So far I've tried running this command but it just hangs. Any ideas? I'm looking for a way to implement desktop notifications (much like an instant messaging program or a mail notifier) within my Python application, on Windows only (no Gtk/Galago, please). I need no more than a simple text-based notification, which should be clickable and have a timeout, nothing else. I do not want to use Windows's "balloon tips", either. Any suggestions?

I'm looking for some alternative methods to replace Query Notifications in a current application I am working on. I have so far been searching for Alternatives to Query Notifications, but I can't seem to find the results I need. The reason is that my Application has grown to over 15 users while still needing to keep each clients synchronized with changes made to the server. I currently have a custom data layer performing caching and...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
