javascript wikipedia update needed

Hi all,

can someone knowledgeable update the wiki for javascript? I just
created a link to the official comp.lang.javascript FAQ but the article
seems old (says "As of 1999"..). It would be great to have someone from
this group update it.

The JavaScript entry on wikipedia has certainly been updated since then.
The phrase should probably say that the latest version of the
ECMAScript spec is Edition 3, March 2000.

I'll do it when I have the time - or maybe you'll beat me to it. :-)

I do not feel I am experienced enough to update it. I just added the
link to the FAQ because I thought it was important.

or

The standard was adopted by the ECMA General Assembly in December
1999, but the actual document is dated 24 March, 2000.

Dunno, checkout the link to see if it's what you have.

That is not the official document, the official document is here
<http://www.ecma-international.org/publications/files/ECMA-ST/Ecma-262.pdf>
and that says
"Standard ECMA-262
3rd Edition - December 1999"
as far as dates are concerned.

Thanks Martin - I guess this is the wrong forum to ask, but why does
Mozilla publish what appears to be a different version? Are the two
identical for all practical purposes (I guess that they are)?

Try to use the original version in Adobe Acrobat reader and then try the
Mozilla version which has lots of bookmarks and cross links. It is much
easier to find your way around when you have an expandable table of
contents in one frame allowing you to navigate to parts of the
specification, when there are links in the document allowing you to jump
from one section to another referenced section. With the original
version all you could do is scroll around in numbered pages and use the
text search dialog so someone has probably taken the original document
and structured it.
