hi ...

have a look here ... this is a mozilla preference ... and i assume you want to set it at runtime since you might have a long running script and you want to avoid the warning? ... therefor you would have to request enhanced privileges from the browser ... and i wouldn't recommend that way if it would be a public page. you could workaround the problem when the 'long-running' script returns 'inbetween' ... post the code and may be we could avoid the problem ... it is a very rare problem and sometimes we just need to optimize the runtime performance of the script ...

kind regards

hi,
Thanks.

when i use Firefox i got 'Unresponsive Script' pop-up...
and i know we can 'solve' this issue with the setting of 'dom.max_script _run_time' config variable(Type about:config in address bar)...

But my problem is --- I want to change 'dom.max_script _run_time' through 'javascript' code ...means when i will run my javascript ..it should automatic set the dom.max_script_ run_time
and for this i need 'firefox' reference in java script to access that config value at client side...

you said you didn't want to set it at runtime of your script ... now you say you want to set it at runtime ... and as i said you have to retrieve enhanced browser privileges ... start here to read about it ... and as i said this is not a secure method for your app since the user is asked to allow the setting and in case he will not do it you cannot set the preference ... so the correct way always is: optimize your script to avoid that long running time ...

kind regards

Hello, I have an ASP page that loops through a SQL Server 2000 table, then downloads an Excel sheet the users can save, etc. Works fine, except, I see that in one particular "comments" field the Excel sheet returns a #VALUE! error in the cell when there is a large amount of text. I've looked through the MSKB, MSDN and many ng posts to see if there is a workaround or solution to this, including looking at the xlWorksheet properties. Is...

This is one that has me stumped and I need an expert's input. Any ideas why the values from the second script-generated drop down list isn't recognized by the script to add time values to the text boxes? What this script is suppose to do is change the value of a second drop down list based on the selection from the first. Then a value is chosen from the script generated drop down list in the

Please forgive the simplicy of this question. I have the following code which attempts to determine the color of some text and set other text to match that color. It works fine in Firefox, but does nothing in IE. I'd be greatful for any assistance. Also, if I will have problems the code on Opera or Safari, I'd appreciate any pointers--I don't have a Mac to test Safari. THanks very much, Michael

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
