date format

Hi all,
I am new to java. I need your help.

I have designed html form with many text fields along with tht i want to send current Date(not time)also if i submit the html form. I wrote date in javascript, so it will display on the html page but it will not go if i submit the form.
Can anyone know this??

--->onething to know is "HTML -- is to view that page alone and can be able to submit to other html but not to pass the parameters from one page to other"..

--->only to overcome this,we move on to Java Server Pages(JSP).
