jdom help

hi,

I AM TRYING TO WRITE AN xml document using jdom

in the following code, when i retrieve a string value from the arraylist, and set it in the setText method, the value doesnt get set in the xml document that i am creating.
if i try printing the string value on the console it works.

any ideas ?????

Document makeDoc(ArrayList tempy)
{

Document doc = new Document(new Element("transformation"));

Element element = new Element("fibonacci");

String s1= (String)tempy.get(0);

String s= "Nishant";

System.out.println(s1);

element.setText(s3);


doc.getRootElement().addContent(element);
}
