Decimals in Java.

1 New Member
Does anybody know how to move decimals in JAva. I am new to programming, and I can not figure it out. This is what I have.
String msg;
msg = String.format("%.2f", totalchange);

I am calculating money, so I need to move the decimal point over two spaces.

I am also working in JOptionPane. so the message will be put in a dialog box.

Why don't you multiply it by 100 and cast it to an integer.
int money = (int)(100*totalchange);

Use java.math.BigDecimal
That's what it was designed for
