How to protect my application from ilegal copying?

How you protect your application from ilegal coping?
Is it some passwords, or limited number of copies, or something else.
Do you develop your own protection or you are use third party solutions?
Or you simple don't protect your products.

You could use guilt. Distribute a licence file with your app with words
to the effect of:

"If you haven't paid for this application you're stealing food from the
mouths of my children. How can you live with yourself? I bet you pull the
wings off flies and kick puppies."

Sorry, in a flippant mood today ;-)

'business as usual'....this is a management direction given to staff in
a takeover situation that translates into 'keep working as you would
normally until we work out which of you we want to get rid of'

The best protection - lack of user documentation :-))

So what do you want to say: I work hard on something that is not global
known
super tool, but I proud on that and I want to live from programming, so
what,
sell once to some NotSoBig company for 20Eur and look how jerks steal my
modest knowledge.
Not a super global mega freak,
my english is not so good,
but I'm in very good mood.
