I have got a software that is meant to work on linux plateform.I need
to make a installer for it,so that it checks for the presence of java
on the system first then depending on its existance start coping files
in a user defined directory.
I want to make the interface in java swing.Do i need to have java
installed on the intended machine or it could somehow run from the
installer CD iself.
I am totally new to linux.can anybdy help?...

I was given a Compaq pocket PC with windows mobile 2002.
I immediately began looking into how to program it and Java seemed
initially to be a good choice.
To my surprise I found it wasn't as straightforward as Java for the
desktop. Even finding a JRE for the PDA is a nightmare.
The PC came with Jeode, a version of PersonalJava.
PersonalJava is no longer supported by SUN.

I have written an application that I would like to deploy to the context
menu in xp. That is the menu that appears when you press the secondary
windows button (generally between the alt and ctrl buttons on the right side
of the space bar - or press shift +F10).
How do I specify deployment to that menu rather than to the desktop or

Here is my problem. I have an app that has over 9 web services. For years I
had not issues with clickonce but now it looks like the build is missing
XmlSerializers.dll.deploy. I did have this issue once in vs 2005 and one the
problem just went away. Well now its back. If I build the app 20 times it
may work once. I did find that if I remove this as a required dll that I can
get my program to run. I can't seem to find any info about...
