I have a stored procedure that runs as a step in a scheduled job. For some reason the job does not seem to finish when ran from the job but does fine when run from a window in SQL Query. I know the job is not working because the number of rows that are inserted into the table (see code) is considerably less than the manual runnning of it. I have included the code for the stored procedure, the output from the job, and the output from...

I have a stored procedure using Convert where the exact same Convert string works in the SELECT portion of the procedure but fails in the WHERE portion. The entire SP is listed below. Specifically, I have a problem with this portion in the WHERE clause: DATEADD(Day,tblMyEventTableName.ReminderDays, @DateNow) Between CONVERT(smalldatetime, str(DATEPART(Month, @DateNow)+1) + '/' + str(DATEPART(Day, tblMyEventTableName.TaskDateTime)) + '/'...

Hello, I am trying to insert some date values into a table. I am using ODBC prepared statements to (potentially) improve performance. The statement syntax I am using is this: INSERT INTO date_tests (date_col) VALUES ( CONVERT(DATETIME, ?, 121) ) The table is defined as "CREATE TABLE date_tests (date_col DATETIME)". Then, I call this prepared statement in a loop to insert some date

Our web service was working fine until we installed .net Framework 1.1 service pack 1. Uninstalling SP1 is not an option because our largest customer says service packs marked as "critical" by Microsoft must be installed on their servers. Now german Umlaute (ä, ü, ö) and quotes are returned incorrectly in SOAP fault responses. This can be easily verified: Implement the following in a web service method (just raises a SOAPException with a...

I have a loop that is set to run as long as the arraylist is > 0. at the beginning of this loop I grab the first object and then remove it. I then go into another loop that checks to see if there are more objects that match the first object that i grabbed. If they match then I put them in an array. I would like to remove each match from the arraylist as I find them to speed things up and so that they don't get checked again. If I try...

Hi, i have an application which works with date. The regional settings of the computer (XP prof. dutch version) are set to French (Belgium). Asp.net and Sql server take the short date format of the regional settings (e.g. 2/08/2007 or 13/08/2007). I checked both: that's ok. When i try to insert a date in a datetime field in sql server which is e.g.

Hi guys - I have written a form, and a stored procedure to update the said form. It really is as simple as that. A user can go into the form, update some fields and hit the update button to update the information which is stored in a SQL database. In testing we noticed that the form was updating correctly but the update mechanism was also updating the first record of the table in the sql database every time. No error messages are on...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
