Hi all, hopefully someone can offer some sagely advice regarding
Production use of Jakarta's Tomcat.
First, some brief background.
My company have a servlet application that connects to a MySQL
database.
The servlet is deployed on two seperate win2k servers (Access to the
tomcat servers is via DNS round robin load balancing).
The database is on a another win2k server.

Hello
I am using tomcat 3.3.1 for an intranet application with other third
party software. Unfortunately I have to remove from the web.xml the
web-app valiadtion, because of the old third party software.
The¨follow up is now that tomcat during every startup is claiming
about that the web.xml is not "well-formed". However I would like to
turn off this validation, but I don't know where it can be configured.
Maybe it can be reached by...

Hi,
We have a 3TB oracle db. 24x7 operation with data constantly coming in
to the DB. Users from all over the world use a web based applicaton to
query and work on the data.
Out transaction performance is quite good but our query performance
sucks. looking up by ids and some combinations of search critera
return ok but some never return. We indexed the db for a lot of
combinations and we materialized some views and that helped a little....

First, a question.
Is there a way to keep VS.NET from red lining elements from third party
controls with an error message that says 'the active schema does not support
the element ****'? Doesn't Microsoft know that there are third party custom
controls out there? It would be nice to have intellisense for third party
controls' elements and properties as well.
I am looking to get a suite of third party asp.net controls. Getting a...

I have a web service(C#) which involves processing lot of information thru a
third party component. I have couple of issues with my web service.
Issue 1:
My web service calls a third party component. The whole operation including
getting results to the user takes 16 mins. But even after changing the
timeouts to 30 Mins, i was getting time out error just after couple of
minutes. It works only after I changed all the time outs to > 30 Mins....

When I add the name of a new individual in a, bound form, it will not
display that person’s name in a label control of a second unbound form.
I have a scheduling program that I am working on. Included in the
application program is a data “GRID” which I believe was created using
Visual Basic, not standard Access. Its purpose is to display the
results of a range of “from-to-dates” of registrations for different
clients. The difficulty...

Hi list,
Is there a preferred way to distribute programs that depends on third
party modules like PyQt, Beautifulsoup etc? I have used setuptools and
just having the setup script check for the existence of the required
modules. If they're not found I have it exit with a message that it need
this or that installed.
But this is not very convenient for the end user and I have got a few
complaints about it. Am I missing something in...

Good evening,
I'm new to developing large subversion-controlled projects. This one
will involve a few third-party libraries like wxWidgets, and perhaps
Twisted. Ordinarily you could just install these into your system and
they'll end up globally (in Python's Lib/site-packages directory). Is it
proper practice to instead install the libraries into a separate of the repository and reference that instead?
I've read about vendor branches,...

Hi. Let me immediately declare - I'm a designer/owner of a website written in jsp pages running under Apache Tomcat 5.5.25. I make simple changes to code but don't understand much about configuration. My site is a commercial site called http://www.orientalrugsonline.co.uk and hosted by a third party who use cPanel and automatically download latest versions of Tomcat and Apache.
For about a week, several important bits of my site have...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
