Hey guys. A new question:
I want to use an STL libarary to hold a bunch of objects I create.
Actually, it will hold references to the objects, but that's beside the
point, for the most part. Here's the question: I want to be able to change
the references (including deleting them). Is there any way to do that
besides using pointers rather than references for the STL library? I'd also
prefer to avoid using const_cast, if it is indeed...

in my program, I have to sort containers of objects which can be 2000
items big in some cases. Since STL containers are based around copying
and since I need to sort these containers quite frequently, I thought
it'd be a better idea to manage additional containers which are
initialized with pointers to the objects in the primary containers and
sort those (only pointers have to be copied around then).

I have been struggling with a security issue that occurs under .NET
2.0, but does not occur under .NET 1.1. Essentially I am trying to
open up a performance counter on a remote server and monitor its value.
In .NET 1.1 this worked fine, however under .NET 2.0 it fails when I

Three are lots of good looking remote-object implementations for Python
such as Pyro, Rpyc, and PyInvoke. All of these require a deamon
running to serve the remote objects.
Has anyone seen a method of doing this using CGI or FastCGI instead of
a deamon? I'm not worried about performance for this application, but
I do have constraints on long-running processes.
I do want to stay away from XmlRpc if possible.

My VB.Net application contains a document that the user can refresh at any

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
