Process Modelling

Has anyone used process modelling successfully and what do you think of it?
Process modelling as opposed to say, collaborating objects to get a task
done (I know the process model itself could be a set of collaborating
objects).

I found this product at:

http://www.vitria.com/library/brochu...e_brochure.pdf

I am posting this to the java group also because this product generates java
code.

You can also give EventStudio a try. It supports sequence diagram
and collaboration diagram based process modeling.

Some examples can be found at:

I am modelling a software system in UML using Umbrello, which stores the UML-model in a XMI-file (which exact type I only guess). Now, my goal is to: have a XSL-transformation (which I call the "script") that, given a name of a "Package"-element lists all "Interface"-, "Class"- and "Package"-elements underneath it. My problem is that I won't get the recursion running. The script only lists the elements directly underneath the package,...

Hi, A friend of mine at Newcastle University is looking to get in touch with someone doing numerical modelling in C++ (preferably, but not essentially, using DEAL 2. To be honest, I think he'd welcome an email from someone doing numerical modelling even without C++). If anyone is, could they contact him at s.r.ASpaMStoppinGThinGpilditch@ncl.ac.uk ? He's using GNU C++ under Cygwin with DEAL 2, and the modelling he's

What are the two best database modelling solutions for MySQL database? I use AllFusion Erwin Data Modeller, but this tool from Computer Associates does not have MySQL option in it. Thereby I have to generate the script first and then make manual modifications. I saw in this newsgroup some old postings about tools like MogWai ERDesigner, XTG Case Tool, etc. Please recommend some best of the breed MySQL specific data modelling tools, which...

Hi, I'm new to DB2 and I'll be doing some data modelling for a UDB 8.1 database. I'll need a data modelling tool that is capable of generating DDL. Does IBM provide such a tool? Is there a cost? Ideally it would support the XML datatypes used by the DB2 XML Extender (not an absolute requirement though). Thanks in advance ... Steve

I think I'm about to start another db development job at a place I work at part time, doing something else. As usual, there's a few spreadsheets kicking about and clients might think that a database is a bit like that but a bit more organised, therefore a few hours work. Has anybody got any URLs for decent guides to how it works, to explain to clients. You know:

hi, Although it is not direcltly relevant to .NET but i would like the expert views. Until now we did not have a formal requirments capture tool and UML diagramming tool. But our projects are getting bigger and we are thinking of buying one. For requirment capture we looked at IBM's Requisite Pro. and for Modelling we looked at IBM Rational Rose developer for Visual Studio. I was wodering if we are making right decision.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
