NetBeans Question

I am using NetBeans 3.5 under Mac OS X 10.2 .

The program seems to work in general: I can edit, compile, and execute code.

My problem is with the debugger. The debugger will run and stop at
breakpoints, etc. but when you try to view variable values in the debugger,
generally all you get is something like "#1213" in the value field.

The NetBeans documentation on the debugger says that sometimes this is all
the debugger returns. Of course, this renders the debugger close to
useless.

Anyone know of a workaround or setting change that will allow me to see
actual values of variables while debugging?

Thanks very much,

Rich

Could it be that the Java code was compiled without debugging info?

Hello. I haven't used NetBeans yet and I haven't programmed much Java (I've programmed more in C++), but I have a question: Can I get a data consistancy guarantee when writing to a file from Java if I use the NetBeans IDE package without using a large DBMS? I mean, does Java standard classes or some NetBeans packages support some kind of...

Please sorry for my dumb question but I cannot find information on how I can change settings so that in NetBeans 6.1 I can edit blue guarded areas. I read in FAQ NetBeans Wiki: FaqFormEditingGuardedBlocks that I had to change something in Properties->Code ,but I really can't figure out what this should be. Thanks in advance.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
