I'd like to design my pages to work cooperatively with browser autofill
features.
I've loked around, but can't find any good documentation on
supported/unsupported field names
(http://toolbar.google.com/autofill_help.html gives some details, but
doesn't make it clear to me how to name my form fields; rfc3106 only
seems to cover ecommerce specific data).
I'd like a delivery name & address (primary);
a contact name & address (if different);
and some personalisation fields (name etc).
The delivery details I want autofilled as far as possible every time, if
the user has autofill. The contact I want filled in only if different
from primary.
The personalisation name I don't want filled in - we sell wedding
stationery - I may want the bride's name, but I don't know whether the
user placing the order is the bride, the groom, the bride's mother, or
whoever, so unless "bride" is an autofillable field I'd prefer it blank.
Here's the old page (some way into the order process):
http://services.ccagroup.co.uk/upbin...ubmit=Continue
(Please don't clutter up our systems by submitting this page).
Seems to work (mostly), except that the address gets duplicated, as does
the phone number, and there's no fax number or opt-in. How would I
prevent the duplication (unless different) ?
Anyone know of any good documentation of the various autofill tools, and
how popular they are ?
Thanks,
Chris
