Autofill Field

Is it possible to autofill a specific field in and Internet Explorer form.

I would like to install a program on a client's computer that will
automatically fill in a password field with their mac address
whenever it sees a specific field name.

This will be used to verify that they are logging in from the same computer.

Is this possible at all?

May I ask what exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to
restrict some functionalities?
Is this possible at all?

Yes! Check out BHO.

Last but not least, I assumed that your client is giving you
permission to install the plugin in his/her PC? :-)

Rather than install a program, I would have thought it would be easier to
store a cookie on their computer. The cookie gets passed to the webserver
every time they request that page, and you can then easily query the
information it contains (thier MAC address in this case).
