Ha, ha... nice concepts, but once again I find a site claiming to be
"liquid" and suggesting ways to achieve "liquidity"... which when viewed
in an older browser (MSNTV)... fails miserably!

As part of my explorations in liquid design, I'm exploring ways to use the overflow: hidden property -- when browser windows become too narrow, I want (some) images to get cropped rather than have the layout break up. In some cases, losing parts of images can be an interesting option. http://www.hebig.org/blog/titlepic.php was the first...

Greetings, I have been developing websites in CSS for a couple years; I claim to be no expert, but certain things could definitely be easier. Consider the box model and it's different implementations: http://tantek.com/CSS/Examples/boxmodelhack.html Microsoft's way and the web standards way. Ironically, though

Please, bare with me. I'm new to CSS and would like to ask for some advice on my current project. I have an existing table based layout that serves as the main template for a .Net application I've been working with. I would like to convert this layout to css based liquid design. I would like the pages to stretch both horizontally and...

Hello, It might have been asked before but since I could not find a reference here's my qustion: I want a liquid layout similar to this one: http://www.alistapart.com/d/negativemargins/ex5.htm but with the footer fixed at the bottom and the content in a scrollable area.

I'm far from a CSS expert, but what I see of it I really like & I love keeping content & style separate. I also hate the way table layout produces convoluted bulky code. However when asked why one should use CSS rather than tables, particularly when tables work & browser support of CSS can be dodgy, especially in IE, I usually fail to come...

http://phazm.net/csstest/index2.html I'm trying to make the thumbnails fit to the width of the page, so there are 3-4 in each row, but when you resize, I want it to basically flow with the page, and I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring that out. I want the code to remain logical: <ul>

I hope someone can help, before I start thinking tables have a lot of merit after all. I am trying to achieve a two column layout, with source code div order main content, right side navigation, footer. Naturally I want liquid main contents, and I have float: right; img, and clear: both; paragraphs in the main contents div. Fixed width...

I learned how to make a page layout liquid so it fills the screen regardless of resolution, but I do not see how to do that with a project that uses master page. Is there a way? My understanding is the top level container must have style elements. Since the top level container of a page that references a master page is a contentplaceholder,...

Here's a (new?) variation on using negative margins to get a three- column layout - I've used the example HTML from A List Apart's article by Alan Pearce: http://alistapart.com/articles/multicolumnlayouts for comparison's sake, but note the CSS layout method is quite different, using padding on an "inner wrapper" div within the center,...
