Icons

Has anyone experience problems with firewall blocking some icons and not
others.

I am using Zone alarm and have the popup set for medium and it was
blocking some of the icons for some strange reason that I have not seen
before.

Any reason why they are been blocked as well not showing up on view
source as I am at a lost?

Thanks

i think this is the weirdest HTML question i've seen (this week).

i don't use zonealarm to block site stuff except cookies and bugs but my
guess is that the icons just happen to be the same size as common
advertising banner sizes or the images are coming from a third party so
are blocked. RTFM.

Are you talking about the fav icons that appear in the address bar? I
don't believe that your firewall blocking would cause only some to
appear or not appear. You also mention that you do not find the icons
when you view the source code. Could it be that the sites in question
just don't have fav icons? It certainly isn't a requirement for a web
page.

No, they are regular ones from my own site that I made. I use it to block
popup adds of pages I don't want to see in the first place. None of my icons
are for popups.

I just setup two new sites up on different servers that have the same icons.
If I have the firewall set low, I have no problem seeing them. As I move the
bar higher, some start to disappear and it various from site to site. When I
get 3/4 up, I start to loose 50% of them. When I view page source, I do not
see the code for the missing icons.

It been a fun time trying to build a site after 3 years.

URL?

i thought the icons you were referring to were the apache directory
listing ones or maybe the w3c nerd buttons. both get blocked by some
filters. how about a URL and pointing out which "icons" are getting
blocked on your site?

Maybe you should tighten them...
