how to make, the textfield read only in the file tag of HTML

Hi All,
In my application i have used the file tag of html, this tag shows me one textfield followed by browse button, i want to make this text field readonly, as the user who ever uses, he has to select the file through the browse button only, he should not enter any text in the text field.

a solution could be to use on the tag of the field the property disabled="disabled".
this may cause a problem though. you cannot post or get that value with a form submition. to avoid that problem you can use a hidden field that has the same value with the disabled field.
