overflow: scroll - no horizontal bar?

Hi:

I have overflow: scroll style property set in a bunch of containers.
Want to be able to suppress the horizontal scroll bar, as I know that
the contents of my containers won't go over the width I have set,
while the height needs to be variable and have a scroll bar. Is there
a way to do this - suppress one scroll bar and not the other?

Thanks!

Mike

On IE, there is, using the overflow-x and overflow-y properties. But it's
hardly worth the effort. It's _good_ that there both scroll bars or their
placeholders (a passive widget that looks like grayed-out scrollbar) are
visible, when a scroll bar is needed.
