percentage difference between ie and mozilla

I made a page that has some divs that I would like to line up next to each
other. I used percentage values to set their positions and sizes, but in IE6
there are breaks in between them and I can't figure out how to get them to
line up. The page displays fine with Mozilla, and it also does not have this
problem if I use pixels to specify the position and size. The page is here
(http://cwp.byu.edu/red.html) and the stylesheet here
(http://cwp.byu.edu/quickred.css) so that you can look at them. Please tell
me if you know what the issue is here. Thanks.

I've always been bothered about having to statically declare the size of a Java applet window (container?) in the calling HTML. I've always wanted the moral equivalent of width=50% statement (of the window or frame). I can sort of get an example working in a Mozilla browser: > <!-- This works on Mozilla only (and maybe netscape) --> > <script language="Javascript"> > document.write( "<applet code=MyApplet.class width=" > +...

As a regular ciwas reader, I learned that fixed-pixel designs are evil, so for the newly created site http://www.ddc-deutsch.de (in German, still very much under construction) I arranged the content (left) and the menu (right) (ideas stolen from bluerobot.com) using percentage widths (75% content, 25% menu). This looks nice in Opera 7.11 but in IE 6, content and menu are overlapping. When reading the following, please keep in mind, that...

I've managed to achieve the effect I wanted in IE6 - although I had to use an experession to set the vertical height of a div (I want it to have an overflow and scroll) but I can't work out a way to duplicate the effect in Mozilla/Firefox the code is here: http://www.fogcat.co.uk/example/example.html Can anyone point me in the right direction - or at least tell me if it is or isn't possible to get the same functionality in Firefox

I am trying to adjust the window/table size of a website (www.worklaw.co.za) which has made use of DIV tags with its settings embedded in an CSS file. The client wants its width and height to adjust according to dynamic screen size, and I have been able to adjust the width to a percentage value which works fine. But if I try do the same with the height it shows some very strange results squashing the field to display about 3 lines.

I need help on this utillity it is supposed to take as its first argument a number and its second argument a subtraction of that number say for example 20 and 2. The program should calculate the percentage lost or gained by the first number using the second number. This program is reporting to me the opposite of what it should and I have tried everything. It says this. 20 2 or 2 from 20 leaving 18 is 90% loss.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
