Firebird rendering issue?

I have some pages that display fine (or at least as I intend them) on
most everything except Firebird (including 0.6.1). Is anyone aware of
CSS issues specific to Firebird?

Example page: http://www.billsaysthis.com/content/..._sayings.phtml

Seems to not be respecting the width setting in a style.

TIA.

Fair enough. I have the same problem on other pages on my site, even
if the page validates:

http://www.billsaysthis.com/content/...pr_rests.phtml

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...pr_rests.phtml

Thanks,
Bill

Firebird uses the Gecko engine, like e.g. Mozilla, current Netscape.

The width in which style?

Hi, Some of our customers have remote offices. I was wondering if it'd be safe to have a DBMS running at their central office, and have our client application running on hosts in the branches connect to it through a VPN via the Net? What happens if the connection goes south while a branch office was making changes? Does the DBMS just rollbacks changes automatically after a time-out?

I've spent a day writing software that will generate a multi-page/level family tree from a single HTML template and a Gedcom file, yet what seems like a minor issue with the CSS in the template is just confounding me. :( Here's my CSS code which applies a background graphic (the branches linking the ancestors) to the table: table.outer-table { width: 430px; background: url(images/tree.gif) no-repeat 0px 0px;

Hi all, Following up on another thread, here is a comparison between FB and PG from an FB'ers POV. BTW, FB is the love-child of Open-Source-Interbase. BTW, I have tried to be as accurate as I can with the information available to me at this point in time - I was unable to find anything resembling a feature list on the FB site, so most of this is from memory. I do have an email account on the various lists on that site, and I will post...

I have an Access 2003 application that is split into two .mdb files for the interfaces and data. This app is distributed on a CD to be used on computers that have no internet access. When someone needs an updated dataset the backend .mdb is refreshed from a load of Oracle tables and sent on CD so that the user only needs to replace a single file. The front end links to the tables in the back end. The problem is that the amount of data...

Hi. I have a Python program that parses a file and inserts records into a database with MySQLdb. I recently upgraded to MySQL 5.0.8, and now my parser runs *really* slow. Writing out to CSV files is fine, but when I try to insert the same records in a MySQL5 database, it slows to a crawl. Using MySQL 4.1 seems fine. The data seems to be inserted correctly, it's just really slow. Has anyone else noticed a similar problem using MySQL5...

I have an application that runs on ASP.NET. We have been working through performance testing and it appears that at about 40-50 users, I start to get CPU bound. The application is a three form, ASP.NET 2.0 application. A login page, and a main page, that is a frame with a header page, and the main page. On the main page, there are two datagrids that pull data from a database. The problem is that on one of the grids, the amount of rows...

Hello, I did google this issue and found some stuff related to BrowserCaps section of either web.config or machine.config but it didn't work. It seems that most pages in my webapp are okay but a couple of the Firefox is munging up. So, on my information page there is a gridview in the content section of the page. The masterpage contains searching capabilities for the gridview. The masterpage has controls contained in a panel control,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
