I've been changing my javascript rollovers to CSS using :hover. I
have used the following class and html so that when you hover over the
home.gif the 'Home' text next to it is underlined.
CSS:
a.main:link { color: white; text-decoration: none}
a.main:active { color: white; text-decoration: none }

How far back in their version history did Netscape and Internet Explorer
support — and – codes for em and en dashes in text? In ALT
attributes? In TITLE tags?
I notice that Netscape 4.7 and 6 and IE 6 all display these correctly as
dashes even when the charset is specified as ISO-8859-1. Is that supposed to
happen?

hello all!
I have a little problem with a DHTML feature which works fine with
most browsers but not with NS4.
an example can be found here:
http://www.deutsche-leasing.de/allgemeine_anfrage.html
As you can see (with NS4) the form fields are displayed in front of
the page footer? Does NS4 do sth special with the z-index of form

We have an application which creates PDF on the fly and is embedded in an
HTML page. The PDF always named the same and is cached and doesn't show new
PDFs when asked. Is there any way to prevent caching other than adding a
date/time stamp on the URL?

Greetings,
I have a web page with a table that does not fit on the screen. Thus,
horizontal scrollbars appear. What I would like to do is add a
caption text above it. However, I would like the text to be centered
in the middle of the viewable screen (meaning, if they scroll, the
text always appears centered). Is there anyway of doing...

About once a week, I post an FAQ pointer in this newsgroup

1. To keep regulars from having to post the standard answers to standard

save yourself some time by first reading the available material for

I'm currently using style="background:transparent;" to accomplish

happen in IE?
