We're incorporating Google Adsense into our website and are trying to have the ad box scroll with the page. Ideally the layer would move with the page as people are scolling down. I've seen other sites do this, but I have no idea how to do it. When I set the layer to be 'fixed', the layer stays in place when people scroll when using Opera...

About once a week, I post an FAQ pointer in this newsgroup under the same heading as this post. That pointer has two purposes: 1. To keep regulars from having to post the standard answers to standard questions again and again; if you have a standard question, you might save yourself some time by first reading the available material for this...

Hi everone. I'm trying to write a shell script that fetches a number of images from a map website (www.whereis.com.au). Basically, the page asks you for a street address and then queries the server in a strange way, and then displays the map you asked for. It then allows you to scroll in different directions from that map. My aim is to...

I have a site that lists my auctions on the main page. I use a JavaScript to call an iframe to display the auction item until the auction is over. Then it displays the eBay button (or nothing, if I have further auctions still active). Here's what that script looks like: var ebimagetag='<iframe name="ebay-table" frameborder=0 width=430...

You guys ever notice that many websites have forums that look like they're using the same software from the same company. For example, look at these 2 different sites, yet the same type of forum. http://www.fansofrealitytv.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=75 http://www.digitalweddingforum.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum;f=4 Do many...

Hi, I am working with a CMS system that defines its own format for tags like h1, h2, body etc. I want to reset those within a certain range and define my own. So how should the CSS central format should look like? The text that I insert will be already inside a body-tag which I cannot manipulate, and which has its own css-file.

On every web browser except Safari, this website works great. (Well, by "every" I mean Mozilla, Netscape, and Internet Explorer, for Mac and Windows). The site is: http://www.ruleofthirds.com (the problem does not exist on the first page... just all the other pages, so you'll have to click on something to see the problem) The problem...

I played in a couple of different browsers today and I noticed that the support for setting 'height' for things such as tables, rows and cells is still not necessarily 'as to be expected' when rendering a mark-up page. I have done some reading as to the support in NN for 'bottom' and 'right' CSS properties as well being a bit lacking. I am...

Carrying on the tradition of uncovering bugs via one's blog design (funny how that happens), I found a Safari 1.0 (v85) rendering bug. Test page here: http://www.natural-innovations.com/test/sfripre.html If anyone's using Mac OS X 10.2.8 with its v85.5 Safari version, could you test it out?

OK, I validated the HTML and CSS, but I'm still having one of the troubles I had before: Site in question: http://www.chancesend.com/test/info.html (I am aware that none of the top navigation links work. I am also aware that the Mailing List portion does not work. I just haven't gotten around to uploading everything) My page uses some...

I'll do this with a table if need be, but can I do it without? I have a heading tag containg an image on the left with text to the right at absolute middle of the image. There is space underneath the text to put a small graphic aligned with the bottom of the first graphic, like this: +-------+ | | | |

Related subjects have been discussed at length on these forums, I'm hoping for a quick and dirty, one-time solution to my specific problem: Have created a web site that I want to distribute on Windows-created CDs. Just HTML and referenced files, e.g. images, no executable. Users can BYOB (bring your own browser). Limited testing is fine on...
