AsiaInfo Database Projects for Communication and Transportation Industries Recognized as "Galaxy" Benchmarks and Excellent Cases

Recently, the list of the Sixth Big Data "Galaxy" Cases jointly made by China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and China Communications Standards Association - Big Data Technology Standards Promotion Committee (CCSA TC601) was released. The Business Support System Core Database Migration and Transformation Project of China Mobile Group Shanghai Company Limited, the Project “Research and Practice of Big Data Lakehouse Platform” of China Mobile Group Shandong Company Limited, and the Project “Upgrading of Yunnan Expressway Clearing and Settlement System for Lower Costs and Higher Efficiency” of Yunnan Highway Toll Network Collection Management Company Limited were selected as benchmark database cases and excellent database cases. The three projects were completed with the support of AsiaInfo and its subsidiary AsiaInfo Anhui.

“Galaxy” Case——Big Data Industry Benchmark

The big data "Galaxy" case collection activity aims to promote the application of big data in production and daily life for the development of big data products and related industries by summarizing and promoting the outstanding achievements of big data industry development. For the domestic big data industry, the activity is of great benchmark significance. Selected cases are excellent projects. The activity is a role model in China to accelerate the cultivation of the data element market and give full play to the value of data production factors.

The three projects selected are all successful practices of AsiaInfo's self-developed general-purpose enterprise-level database products like AntDB.

Benchmark Case: Business Support System Core Database Migration and Transformation Project

This project is mainly for independent and controllable replacement and operation and maintenance support in the core database scenario of the IT business support system of large enterprises. Through distributed database architecture, full-memory storage, and dual-center 3-copy deployment, it has high concurrency and high availability architecture support capabilities with horizontal expansion and concurrent reading and writing. It enables second-level disaster recovery switching. Through dual storage engine technology and the introduction of RDMA lossless network technology, it enables high concurrency, low latency, and high-performance data processing of the core database.

After the core accounting database was migrated and launched, the performance of the business interface increased by 38%, the efficiency of billing increased by 40%, and customer perception was significantly optimized. The overall database construction and operation and maintenance costs are saved by more than 50%.

Benchmark Case: Project “Research and Practice of Big Data Lakehouse Platform”

As China Mobile Shandong Company requires for ever-more sophisticated real-time data processing, conventional data lakes and warehouses cannot meet the needs of data storage and analysis. Through joint practice and research with China Mobile Shandong Company, AsiaInfo has provided an overall solution for fast access to the lake, incremental storage, and integrated development and management of the lake and warehouse, greatly streamlining the free travel business of China Mobile Shandong Company in terms of performance and timeliness. The processing performance has been improved by 50%, and the complexity of calculation and processing has been reduced by 40%.

Benchmark Case: Project “Upgrading of Yunnan Expressway Clearing and Settlement System for Lower Costs and Higher Efficiency”

This project provides the clearing and settlement system with the unified service capability of provincial center data and the processing capability of "full process + multi-protocol + high performance + full business data". It enables the centralized collection, processing and query of massive transaction data. It injects new impetus to the ministerial-provincial framework support system after the abolition of provincial border tolls.

The upgraded clearing and settlement system processes key businesses 90% faster, takes only 20 minutes instead of 3 hours to generate reports, with efficiency up by nearly 90%. Compared with international brand databases, the AntDB database has saved the customer procurement costs worth 2 million yuan, as well as commercial service fees of 400,000 yuan a year. It has helped the customer reduce costs and improve efficiency.
