ACCESS: passworded programs i didn't password

3 New Member
I created 2 databases for our Church - one for all our songs and another for our membership... somehow The Access 98 version and both of my programs are now asking for a password that i didn't put in when the programs were written.. I wonder if there's a way to neutralize the password prompt and get back to the way it was ----- or go back and make completely New programs of which will take me many days to put back the data if i can even remember all of it...... would appreciate any information that i could get... Thanks, Jim

Jim,

Welcome to the Scripts. I would recommend asking a Moderator to move your post here to our Access forum. This way you your question will be seen by the proper experts.

Where you messing around with the settings of your database? There are security settings that might you could have accidentally turned on that enable a password.

I had not even used the computer for a day or so and there are only two of us that even use it at all..? Though someone could have been messing with it - we don't secure it from anyone - (stupid) ha/ - perhaps ? maybe someone else accidently created this password and is not saying anything ? - there must be a way to delete this with some program and not make me lose all my data... I've heard of a program that someone created in PC Utilities that would let you see behind the dots in the password prompt but can't remember the name or issue of that Magazine. Thanks for you response back and i'll try other things to get a resolve for this......... Thanks again, Jim
