Hi all, I'm building a C# application that uses a M$ Acces database. In one of the queries I use something like the following: SELECT id FROM mytable WHERE id IN (20, 12, 21, 14) The result is fine, except that the order of the id's is not preserved. It seems to be ordered ascending. How can I keep the order I used as input?

Dear mates, This is an another survey for the common (and uncommon) nontrivial uses of the aforementioned C construct. It's posted by the same average C programmer who's made a similar survey about the uses of 'enum's. I know that space optimization is the key idea behind 'union's, and in most cases a type-field is necessary to verify the type of the entity in the 'union' variable.

Hi, In my couple of years of experience, I have never found a single instance where I needed to use unions and bitfields(though I have used structures).I was just imagining where would these find relevance.Though both of these(bitfields and unions) are used where space is a constraint(so I can assume always in embedded systems,where memory is particularly less)and we want to save space/memory. As far as I have read, there is no...

Dear ALL As we know that when we declare the union then we have the size of the union which is the size of the highest data type as in the below case the size should be 4 (For my case and compiler), and it is, what I conclude from the below code union data_type {

In the book ,it said that union can have constructors and destructor ,or other member functions. I can understand using constructors and memeber functions,but what is destructor used for? I have appealled to the forums in chinese ,but no enough usefull feedback.

Hi, I'm reading an R-tree implementation converted from C to C++. A union is used for the internal nodes and the leaves of the tree. union { Node* m_child; ///Child node, if it is an internal node DATATYPE m_data; ///Data, if it is a leaf.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
