I am using VB 6.0 Working Model (the one with no help files).
I have a form. On a portion of the form I have a Picture Box. On the
PicBox I want to draw something to follow the mouse. I can detect the mouse
position as it is moved. If it moves a certain distance I want to erase the
PicBox and draw something at a new position. I can do this successfully.
My problem comes when I move the mouse outside of the PicBox. I want to
detect this and...

Hello All,
Here is what I would like to do
I am creating a game program that displays a map (preferably in hexes but
that is another matter) and whenever the user is over the "map" I want to
know the x,y coords (in pixels) of where he is pointing to.
Here is what I have done

I have a picturebox on my VB.NET form. The picturebox size mode is set to
stretched. I then load an image into that form and display it. As the user
moves the mouse over the form, I want to get and display (in the status bar)
the image coordinates of the mouse location. However, if I use the
picturebox's MouseMove event, I am getting the coordinates of the mouse over
the PICTUREBOX, not the actual image underneath that (which is stretched)....

Hi,
Is there any kind of mouse over type method in C#, that will change the
mouse to a different pointer when the mouse is over a picture box. The
reason i as is that i am intending to use a picture instead of a button to
move to another form and its not obvious, without writing on the user
interface, what to do. I thought a change in mouse pointer might help.
Thanks

Hi ,
I am having problems with mouse positioning and have code in the mouse up
and mouse down events using C# in VS 2005.
I am trying to draw a rectangle on top of a picture box image.
If I use the following code the box appears at the correct location but when
the screen is covered and redrawn the box is erased.

Hello Everyone,
I designed a custom control that is entirely covered by a picture box.
I then dragged this custom control onto a windows form application
(called main) and I need to handle mouse events in my main
application. Specifically, when a user double clicks on my custom
control I need to draw something on another picture box located in my
main application.
I'm going to attempt to draw the scenario because I think it will

In vb.net, I want to allow a user to click and drag a form like what is supported when you click and drag a moveable forms title bar: you click and hold titlebar, then move the mouse, the form moves with the mouse. Ide like to be able to do this but with an area on the form.
For example, I have a picturebox on the form. When the mouse is down on the picture and they move the mouse, I would like the form to move with it.
Any idea how this...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
