As far as what "HA" were using, Im not sure. What I know about the
setup is that the rootvg was not copied over, only the instance owner
home directory and the /etc/services file. DB2 is installed seperately
on each box, but the theory is that the instance should replicate over
when the one box fails. This would be done when the instance owner
home directory moves over from the primary to the failover box. The
/etc/services file would move as well. I have a theory that maybe the
instance needs to be installed seperately on each box for this to work
as DB2 is installed seperately. There are many many guides on doing
this with normal DB2 setups that have databases, but for a box that
only will be using DB2 connect, I cannot find any recommendations.
Please help!

Hi all.
I have a quick question about HA. We have a setup that will be
implementing HA for DB2 ESE v8.2 FP 11 on AIX 5.3. This instance that
needs to be configured for HA was installed with the -ese because it
was only to be used for DB2 connect. Currently, we are making
available for HA the instance owner home directory and the
/etc/services file. When HA kicks in and transfers to the backup
server, the instance does not show up. DB2 works (only after moving
the /etc/services file, before doing that DB2 did not even kick up,
although it is installed on both boxes outside of HA), but the instance
does not show in db2ilist. We were thinking that there was other
files, possibly in the /etc directory, which affect the instance
working which would need to be availabla via HA to make this work. Any
thoughts?
