Hi,
On first DB2 install, what's the default base to test connect with JDBC
please ?
I use JDBC to work with DB2 quite a bit; your question doesn't really make
sense.
Are you asking about the URL 'jdbc:default:connection' which the Development
Center creates when you generate a Java stored procedure? If so, that URL is
associated with whatever DB2 database you choose when you create a
connection for the stored procedure. That could be the SAMPLE database or
any other database in your DB2 system.
If you're simply trying to verify that JDBC works on your newly installed
DB2 system, try preparing and running the sample programs that come with
DB2; instructions are provided within the source code of the programs.
Listings of the programs showing those comments are also accessible in the
'Samples' portion of the Info Center. You should create the SAMPLE database
first; that is easily done via the 'Create Sample Database' option in the
First Steps menu.
You might find it faster to write a very simple JDBC program that simply
gets a connection to a database on your system and then reports the time
via:
values(current timestamp)
That should prove that your new DB2 system is installed correctly.
