Syantax support

P: n/a
Hi ,
This is regarding the sequence (select nextval) syntax support which
is not there on 8.1 base version but applying the fixpack 6 the syntax
is supported
Here can any one tell what fixpack this syntax is supported from .
Thanks

Serge would know the answer (but he's probably offline for the week),
but it was either FP3 or FP4.

I actually did.. But the news-server I used didn't propagate (yet).
Here's is a repeat (I apologize for duplicates):

NEXTVAL FOR <sequence> and PREVVAL FOR <sequence> was the original.
The SQL Standard did not follow this exact syntax.
The SQL Standard syntax is:
NEXT VALUE FOR <sequence> and PREVIOUS VALUE FOR <sequence>
DB2 supports and documents now the standard syntax and tolerates the old
one.
I don't recall when exactly that adjustment was done.

Cheers
Serge
