Hello,
I'm getting started on my first java project. I'm likely going to use
jsp/servlets connected to javabeans. The beans will connect to my
backend and get/set information for me. When returning database
records from the bean, what common methods to people use? I've seen
records returned as arraylists, but I'm not sure I like this method
too well. To get the information in the next column, I can use
nextElement(), but then I'm...

Is anyone out there using a C#.NET OR mapping framework in a production
environment? I'm thinking of such frameworks as nHibernate, Gentle, etc..
I've looked at quite a few but none of them seem mature enough for serious
use. Looking for suggestions. Thanks.

I just moved to another company that's mainly a Java/.NET shop. I was
happy to find out that there's a movement from the grassroot to try to
convince the boss to use a dynamic language for our development!
Two of the senior developers, however, are already rooting for Ruby on
Rails--although they haven't tried RoR themselves. When I suggested
Django, they went like, "what's that?".
I said, "It's like the Python counterpart of RoR".

We are using apache ibatis with our MySQL 5.0 database (using innodb

We get such errors generally on inserts or updates while applying a

Hi I had a question about DB2 dates.
I am trying to understand how the flow works in a system.
Firstly date is stored in the database as a 21 character format an example is
"2008080814532500+0000" it seems to be of the form "yyyyddMMhhmm....".
The dates are stored with
INSERT INTO TABLE1(

I have made a simple python module to handle SQL databases:
https://fedorahosted.org/pySQLFace/wiki
Its goal to separate relational database stuff (SQL) from algorythmic
code (python). A SQLFace is a facade initialized with a configuration
file (XML). It provides callable command objects for each sql query.
The call substitutes template variables with its parameters, and
returns the result of the query.
I would like to get some opinions...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
