Version of DB2 9 Information Center that doesn't require admin authority to install is now available.

Just a quick note to let you know that we've made a version of the DB2
Information Center available that you can install without requiring
root or administrator authority from
https://www14.software.ibm.com/webap...ACT=dm-db2doce.
You'll need to sign in with your IBM ID. (You can register for an IBM
ID here: https://www.ibm.com/account/profile/us?page=reg).

Hi. I'm a new user of Python but I have noted a little problem. Python is a very good language but it is evolving, in particular its library is evolving. This can be a problem when, ad example, a module change its interface or its implementation in a fundamental way (an example: wxPython). This, I think, can be resolved by allowing an user to explicitly say what version of a module it wants (sush as version numbers in Linux shared...

What would be the best way to obtain a DB2 UDB (major) version for particular DB2 database, preferably by the C language style API. I have to develop a client application that first has to figure out a DB2 UDB version (can be 5, 6, 7, or 8) for the DB2 database passed dynamically as run time parameter to the application. So first function should take a database name as a parameter and return an integer (5, 6, 7, or 8, depending what...

I am trying to install connect v8.1 on a windows xp PC to monitor databases on a AIX server. I tried unistalling and re-installing the Connect software and I now get the following error message when trying to re-install the connect software on the windows machine. DB2 has been installed previously by a user that is not an administrator of this computer. This installation will not be allowed as only one installation of DB2 is allowed on...

Hi, Our Health Center ("DB2 v8.1.0.64", "s040812", "MI00086", and FixPak "7") hasn't been sending out email notifications for a bit now, but we aren't sure why, since no configurations have changed (except the server has been restarted, so perhaps something is 'off'). We just have one email alias setup in the Health Center for our single, small db. I've tested the alias manually and it still works. What mechanism does it use to send...

We've fooled around with Access a bit, but only using the single-user store-bought version. It seems to be a good database - versatile and infinitely programmable - and can apparently be used as a front end to SQL server if we ever needed to go that route. But - is there a client/server version of Access ? Looking on the CDW site there is a bewildering variety of packages and licences and such, but we can't figure out just which do...

Ok, I've had this issues since yesterday and I cannot figure out what's causing it. Basically, I have a Visual Studio 2005 Web Service. The service runs completely find on my local development environment (running WinXP, with .NET 1.1 & .NET 2.0 installed). I would normally Publish the website to another machine using the built in "Publish" in VS 2005. I publish to a file system on a remote machine running ..NET 2.0 Framework. I...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
